Anyone know how the livestock business is going, wait I already found that one out, slow as all the other stuff, but I know there are some busy companies out there. Can anyone give me some good liestock companies that will lease a power only on? I am out of Ohio but can relocate or atleast "travel" to the terminal... haha

Don't know of any haulers myself but I would think that business is actually running strong. Cattle prices are down and guys are getting out so they are selling. Supply and demand.......high prices means low supply, low prices means high supply.

Actually let m extend my options, I am tired of pulling van, I want to start pulling pneumatic, or hopper bottom as well... BUT I do have a problem that has caused me to not lease with Oakley, Autumn, Foltz, and basically all the good companies... My speeding ticket I had on myworthless streetbike.... Is there any other companies in the above business that will over look an excessive speeding, and lease me on?

Man I wish I was running into luck, as you seem to think LOL... I have called over 30 companies and not one is really that busy to lease on another truck... That or they just don't lease on O/O's but I have talked to several and they are running slow.... Don't know why...

I don't think that many bullhauling companies do the Lease deal. If you had your own authority, it would probably be a different story. Most companies in the livestock industry expect tickets, or don't frown on them as much as other carriers. Most consider themselfs outlaws. :biggrin_25525: If you get into the industry, you'll see what I mean. :biggrin_25517:

Hubby pulled many 90,000 loads. BUT we bought the overweight permits and he never was on the interstate with them. Most ranchers will try to overload you, and you never have a scale handy, so your guessing by the weight of the cow and how many you have on. Sometimes he could only get 32 head on the truck, other times he could haul 42-45. Sale barn loads are usually 85,000.

Hubby was lucky, from what I understand of the business. He never ran out more than 600 miles or back more than 600 miles. He NEVER did the Montana runs that would come back close to our house. But we only licensed the truck for about 600 miles around us on purpose. LOL

HP - Hubbys truck is 500. He had no problems in the mountains in WY with his loads. Did fine.

    truckmetal13 Thanks this.
