DUH!!! Not the sharpest tack in the box at times.

I was wondering why it was in the "preventative maintenance" expense.

You have the basics down, but, I like to figure in "unexpected" costs, like towing/motel/insurance deductable in case of accident etc. Also, in a round about way, when you are home or headed home empty, you are NOT producing revenue, but, still have expenses, rig ht? Something to consider. How much is going out and how much is coming in. Do you keep truck expenses separate from home expenses? :fucyc:

Thanks Allow Me., we are running the numbers under several different scenarios like 50% and 75% empty. Along with the fuel being .50 higher than today's prices.

Our insurance policy is going to cover the tow since the truck will have higher mileage than the last one. A tow could cost thousands!

What do you mean by "home expenses"? Our personal cost of living? Bills, foods and car payment? If that is what you mean we keep the trucking company separate.

I had to buy the original 24 and plan on keeping them. They're stored by my barn as are the extras. I'll hold on to them for now, but may PM you later for the info.

    Thanks!!

As for home expenses, I'm refering to money needed to maintain your home, if you have one. In other words, will you be living in the truck and maintaining a home, or will you be free from home maintainence? I always put my junk in storage when I was on the road, thereby saving paying rent on a seldom used residence. (No rent/utilities equals more cash in my pocket)

This is what I came up with for my operation. I think I covered most items relevent to myself.
My spread sheet did not transition well, but this will give you and idea of cost per mile. I actually own truck and trailer but take a payment for each to pay me back.
Note: There is no driver pay in these numbers.
