Expense Spreadsheet of 2010
We are putting together an annual expense spreadsheet planning for worst case.
The items...
• Fuel
• Insurance
• Plates
• Additional States
• Cell Phone (company phone)
• PMs
• Alignment
• Truck Wash
Reserve Items...
• In Frame
• Clutch
• Tires
Is there anything else that I am missing?
Also if any O/Os wouldn't mind sharing their average annual expenses from last year or their forecast you can PM me if you'd like or simply post it. I would like to cross check our numbers to make sure we are in line with the industry.
Thanks for the help in advance!

Boy...a Volvo and a Cabover....talk about opposite ends of the spectrum!
You don't mention what you're pulling. Remember reefer fuel, tarps, tie-downs, load locks, etc.

It is, isn't it?!
I cannot take credit for the K-100... that was my friend's. As for the Volvo we sold that a couple of years ago, I pulled a 48' spread reefer. I am thinking of getting back into trucking, but this time staying away from the food world. I am wanting to start pulling drop decks again and we have the traps, chains, and straps in the equation. I should have listed it.
I also guess for the guys wanting to get into the reefer business they should also account for pallets. Especially if they go into Wal-Mart
And lumpers.. do not even get me started on that racket!
Back on track, I have $600 for miscellaneous (Oil, Anti-Freeze, Lights, broken straps and so on)
Medical and Workman's comp is not however, one truck and I'll be the driver. Insurance... isn't that a lovely Python around the necks of small business! All this while some thing $1.20 is a fair price per mile... never mind the $1.01 I came across last night!

I do reefer and after riding around with 24 pallets in my truck, I took them out. I've not seen but a couple loads requiring pallet exchange. In fact, after I delivered a load a couple of weeks ago, I had an extra 16 pallets on board. I'm starting a collection.
I did a Walmart run in '04 and that was the only time I used lumpers (had to) at a distribution center when I was a company driver.

It seemed like every frozen load I hauled required pallet exchange and if I had non it was like $8 a pallet!!! Yet another racket in the trucking world.
FWIW.. Wal-Mart does not give you pallets back anymore, they changed that in '05.
