I spent two weeks in Australia when I was in the Marine Corps. Then Australian women love when the big American ships make port. If I weren't married, #### son, I'd move there just for the ladies.

Hey there Scania man well its all a numbers game if you don't ask you'll never find out my sister actually works for 1 of the mining companies in admin she was saying how alot of the mines are hiring clean skins so usually if you have either machine or truck operating experience they may hire you usually at first its through some of the temp agencies then if they like you the company will hire you directly however sometimes you actually get better rates working through temp agencies like workpac etc etc also try some of the big mining companies like Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and Mac Carther Coal.

Many thanks Aussiejosh! I have experience in both trucks and machines, I regularly transport machines up to 150,000kgs, of course that means I have been trained to drive them too! Thanks so much for your answer, i would truely love a job in your country because right now as far as I'm concerned given the world economic status Australia is the finest country in the world! Some pretty decent citizens too!

hi everyone! enjoyed reading thread a lot, alot of useful info! I've been to Oz 5 times for holidays and the backpacking thing but thinking about going backl for a year or so to work. I am a truckdriver over here in holland. (you guys probably wouldnt believe the regulations over here...
) I've always enjoyed the long runs but was wondering how skilled you need to be over there mechanics wise, as honestly, I can change a tyre and all that but thats about it
is that something that employers look at? I'm still fairly young (2
but I'd love to get an opportunity with the big boys
appreciate the help! regards dave
