Trucking crackdown to add to paperwork

Trucking crackdown to add to paperwork
9/9/08
Australia
Quote:
The nation's late night trucking convoys could be fewer from next month, when fatigue laws crack down on driving between midnight and 6am.
The laws will affect drivers of vehicles over 12 tonnes, or buses with more than 12 seats.
Drivers will also be limited to 12-hour shifts.
A New South Wales heavy trucking operator says there will be new costs for greater fatigue management.

limited to 12 hour shifts? i think not

In my 'AHEM' holiday, i sifted the legislation.. only long haul is going to be hit by these new laws. They will suffer on any run that isnt dock to dock.. read most loads..
Local will remain relativley unaffected..
