Colac truck driver booked for sixth time

Colac truck driver booked for sixth time
9/15/08
Geelong Advertiser, Australia
Quote:
A TRUCK driver who illegally parked his semi-trailer in a Colac street had been booked at least six times before for similar offences, a police officer told Colac Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Warren Williamson, 46, of Skene St, Colac, was convicted and fined in an ex-parte hearing.
Leading Senior Constable Peter Howey said he saw Williamson's water tanker parked in Armstrong St, Colac, on February 2 this year.
The truck was still parked there 90 minutes later with two hoses spread out on the ground. Heavy vehicles can park in built-up areas for a maximum of one hour.
Senior Constable Howey said when contacted, Williamson claimed he had only parked there while he went to get spare parts for his truck.
Sen-Constable Howey told magistrate Rosemary Carlin that he had booked Williamson six times for similar offences.
Ms Carlin convicted Williamson and fined him $130.
