The National Transport Commission (NTC) should stop working on its climate change strategy and focus on delivering transport industry reforms, the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has argued.
ATA chairman Trevor Martyn has released its submission to the NTC’s discussion paper on freight transport in the carbon-constrained economy.
He said the NTC’s paper was inconsistent with work already being undertaken by the Australian Government on emissions trading.
“The ATA cautioned the NTC last year that it should stay focused on delivering key productivity reforms for the trucking industry and this latest attempt on climate change reaffirms our opinion on the matter,” Mr Martyn said.

The NTC are of in la la land and have long outgrown any percieved usefulness...

except as a vehicle to pass on bad legislation....
