Council puts a halt to truck stop

Quote:
PORT Macquarie Hastings Council has moved to ban trucks from parking in the area directly east of Timbertown.

General manager, Andrew Roach, said the decision was taken following a number of complaints.
“Following a number of complaints Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will soon be erecting prohibition signs on Council owned land adjacent to Timbertown in a bid to stop trucks parking illegally,” Mr Roach said.
“Council has written to the owners of the offending trucks asking that they be removed from the land which is part of Timbertown. “In recent times it has become common practise to park on the land which is not in keeping with the local amenity.
