A TRUCK driver is lucky to be alive after a spectacular two-truck collision at Maude, near Lethbridge, yesterday.

The 49-year-old man from Lovely Banks in Geelong was trapped in the wreckage of his cabin for 90 minutes while emergency services worked to free him.
He was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition suffering leg injuries.
The crash happened about 9am after the man's Ballarat-bound B-double truck and another B-double collided at the Mt View Quarry entrance on Maude-Sheoaks Rd.
The driver of the other B-double, a 52-year-old man from Teesdale, escaped injury. Bannockburn Police Sergeant Tim Bolitho said the truck's front and cabin was crushed underneath the dog trailer of the second B-double.

That is one lucky driver to be alive! Reminds me of a wreck I saw as a kid. One logging rig ran into the back of the other one on purpose (his brakes failed - driver opted to risk his life rather than other people's). The driver did not survive in that case though.
