No, you have to have your CDL before you start.

This is my last week at school. Avritt is opening the Cracker Berral rout here in Lebanon, TN which is only 20 minutes from my house. They said that the start off pay is 37 a mile and I would get paid .12 for each box I unload so $150 to $200 each delivery. My other choice is McElroy. What do you guys suggest? I ask because on some threads I have read several times from other drivers that Avritt starts you off with good miles but after 3 months they cut your miles. Thanks for any help.

Sorry quick correction--that is $150 to $200 Tfor unloading the boxes. They said 37 a mile and run about 2300 miles a week, so sound like miles plus unloading boxes is little over 1,000 a week right?

I have really enjoyed so many post on this site. Such good honest info. One question for ya ll. Does Averitt require regional drivers to load and unload freight? Many thanks for any info.

Cracker Barrel would be very consistent miles. As for being regional and unloading it's 99% no touch freight. You'll get the occasional Lazy Boy or Petco load that requires driver assist on the unload but you get extra money for it.

    candee Thanks this.
