Averitt told you you were pre-hired. If you look on their website, it says they hire students upon graduation from an approved school, with a 90 average.

Yes those are the requirements of successfully completing school. The job offer is contingent upon graduating and passing your CDL skills test.

I do work with Averitt. You can not take your tractor home and you do wear a uniform...all that is good for me. The pay is great and if you are going to be out of one of the Northern terminals you get great MI. Florida is on the weak state but not that bad. The dispatchers have been great and are willing to work with you. Home time is every week end and that has proven to be true except once but that was a weather situation. You are a person at Averitt, not a number.

Does anyone know what their pay scale is and where their terminals are located? I looked at their website but it did not list either.

They have yards all over the place. The AD in this weeks paper reads top pay up to 40.5 cpm.

How close to the terminal do you have to live? I currently live in STL but am getting ready to move back home (about 130 miles south). The drive isn't bad (all interstate) and it sounds like they are one of the better outfits out there. I will be done with school at the end of May. I have a good work record and nothing on my driving or criminal history.
