Can anyone tell me what to expect at Averitt's Orientation Program? Something along the lines of what the road test is like, and what one does the rest of the time. Thanks,

What have you heard about getting the miles working out of the Cleveland Terminal. Also what is orientation like - what do they have you do on the driving test?

Orientation Questions?

Hi - what is the orientation like - specifically the driving test. I have gotten in everywhere I have ever had to, but still get weird about taking a road test. Any info is appreciated.

The dispatchers have been great and are willing to work with you. Home time is every week end and that has proven to be true except once but that was a weather situation. You are a person at Averitt, not a number.

Yo, y'all:

I have no axe to grind here, and am sure that most Averitt folks are good to be around and drive well. However, I noticed several times that mention of uniforms. Maybe all drivers don't have to wear uniforms, no way for me to know, but one driver did not wear his uniform. I watched him come in to a store parking lot, saw he needed the space I was occupying and moved my van. I had to wait for my son, so I just sat there a while and watched. The driver was not wearing a uniform and the truck had Averitt painted on it. Now, I don't really care about this, I'm just noting it because it was a significant point others made.

Hi guys,
Excuse the new noob here, but I'm so new I'm not even sure how to post!
I've been trying to decide which company that provides training I would like to go with. Schneider was ok, but 18 mo. commitment and 2 yrs. until you get $1000 extra paid in for school back is a bit much.
Roehl sounds really great too, but Driver Solutions uses the Lake Milton training school very near me and it would make things much easier. Averitt is one of thecompanies they recruit for and from what I have read isn't too bad. Question for you Averitt guys. I'm clean cut but you know, kind of the old hippe. I can shave Goatee, not a problem, I can wear uniform (eech) but not a problem, I can easily take out earring... but what about the tattoo on my forearm. Rather large, it ain't going anywhere, but it ends 3" above my wrist and with a long sleeve shirt is hidden. Is this a deal breaker? I find it hard to believe I've managed buisnesses, sold real estate and much else with no problem, but it would keep me from driving a friggin' truck? Come on. Please let me know whether to pursue working for this company or if I'm already counted out.
Thanks

company has good benefits

I just quite averitt on thursady because i omly got 1800 miles last week and this week i havent been doing nuthing but setting, seem to have been doing alot of that the past few weeks, so if you can handle weeks with little miles you will be ok, as that one person stated if you live in tn you will do good but as for florida forget it, well good luck

I cannot find any information on here about Averitt but have spoken with several of their drivers and always heard good things about the company.
Is there any drivers out here that have driven for Averitt or that has any information for me on the company??
I would appreciate any info I could receive.
Thanks,
Suzy
