I passed the CDL test today and graduate tomorrow. I have a clean work history, and a drug screen is a pleasure for me to take. LOL
I'm scheduled for an interview Monday. My main focus is Averitt, I live in Cookeville so I'm going to corporate for the interview. I'm working other company leads and would like to push out the other orientation dates so if Averitt falls through I have fall back positions.
Could someone give me an average timeframe for the hiring process? I realize there is no absolute so a ball park timeframe would be appreciated. I certainly don't want to leave the other companies out to dry as this would be the wrong way to do things IMHO.
TIA
Mitchell

you can always string them along. if they decide they want you and they are your 2nd or 3rd (or 19th) choice, agreeing to go to orientation in 3 weeks should give you enough time to see what other options you can muster up. if its a large company, the only one that could be even mildly unhappy with this would be the recruiter, and then only if they make commission (?).

Ya I've set them (the other companies) out to week after next, at least until I can get an idea. I PM'd a driver in here and he hasn't answered, which is why I'm asking here in this forum.

I believe the process took me two weeks to get the orientation scheduled. It does not take long if everything in your past employment checks out.

Normally 1-3 weeks after you put your application in you will be in cookeville for orientation. That's if all your stuff checks out good.

Good to know. I'm pretty straight forward. Two jobs in about ten years. Continually employed mind you. LOL

App was put in when I started my cdl school three weeks ago. Now I'm ready to go. Living in Cookeville will have its perks I hope. LOL
