Didn't know Averitt tractors were automatic and some of the trailers were 57 footers until my father just left orientation with them.

Didn't know about the 57 footers either. I've never seen one in my 2 years with averitt.

Are there not only a handful of state were 57 foot trailers are legal? In fact they're so rare I have only seen one once. In the middle of California right off 99. It was parked in the grass and had a fence around it. Obviously not used in a long time. Anyone have pictures of any?

Your right mostly used for dedicated operations in which you have product like can's & bottles and other light bulky freight.
Thought I saw some grocery store chains with new 57ft boxes at a few trailer plants over the years. That would be your best bet if you want a picture.
