Hey guys, I got hired on with Averitt running regional out of the Raleigh, NC service center. I keep hearing nothing but good things about Averitt.I fly out to Cookeville, TN the 15th to start orientation on the 16th. Then leave out with my trainer on the 23rd. Anyone that has been through this process, did you drive a manual or auto? As I dont want to drive an auto. Also how does your home time and run schedule go weekly? I'm sure this info is on here, but I'm also sure it is old. Thanks guys.
Got on with Averitt. Got a few questions to drivers.

I have never worked there wish they had a terminal in this part of the country but they don't, I am just thinking that they will train you with a trainer in a manual transmission, But then they will or may put you in an automatic transmission as a truck that is assigned to you, I'm just thinking this is what they may do from hearing that they probably will train you to shift just in case you need to. Thanks.

Have you driven both in a TRUCK? If not you can't say that, from the house to work or the grocery store in a car is totally different, don't get the "Super Trucker Syndrome" "I do what I do the way my father and Grandfather did it" Things are changing and it isn't like it used to be 40 years ago, Father and Grand father drove when how and where they wanted to and is the reason we are so regulated today because they found the loop holes and used them to their advantage.

I drove for Averitt for 18 mos. Loved it. Great company. Hated the auto shift at first but learned to love it. You'll get used to it and love em as well. I'll bet money on it.
