Do you turn your shirts in weekly and then Cintas cleans them, or do you do them up with your other laundry? (Note to new drivers, wash the shirts by themselves the first few times or everything else will turn pink!)

Hey Jeep, I found another solution for the Cascadia. I removed the four screws on the inside of that front panel and just removed the whole thing.

Some weeks every night. This past week I stayed in two out of five nights. Just depends where your loads go. And no deal on taking truck home.

I can finally say that I'm one of the minions. This past week was my first solo week. They say in orientation that the first week will be your worst week. If that holds true, I'll take many more weeks like this one. I didn't think it was that bad. I had worse weeks while on the trainer truck. The biggest thing is that I actually get to sleep now. Trainer truck...not so much. Great trainer, but not much sleep. They put me in an old Volvo with 708,xxx miles on it but it looked like it had been well taken care of by the previous driver(s). I picked it up in Knoxville and drove it home next to that BBQ place everyone likes so much in TRI. It rode better than the Freightliner I trained in...and it had about 500,000 less miles on it. I could actually see better out of the Volvo, too. I'd like to keep it and run the wheels off of it, but I sense the Elog QUALCOMM and a different truck attached to it in the not-too-distant future. I trained on the Elog system and was hoping I would get a truck with Elog. I've used paper logs for a week. I got to liking the paper log thing. It got me through some tough spots this week. If I have to get a truck with Elog, I hope its another Volvo. I've been able to live comfortably in the truck with the exception of the use of the microwave. I got a 700 watt microwave. I have to turn the truck engine on in order for it to work. Other than that, LIVING in the truck has been quite comfortable. If anyone has any advice on running that microwave more easily, I'm all ears.

there should be a 110 outlet that is run from the apu......I have a 900 watt microwave that I have plugged into the inverter and I don't have any problems with it

Not on that old Volvo he's in. Just the outlets on the inverter. I'm in one too. I had to turn in the 2013 Cascadia when I went on medical leave in November. This '08 Volvo has 701k on it but not a bad truck. Was offered to move up but told him I want to keep this one until they sell it. Nice being off the elogs for awhile.

I can't even run a 900 watt microwave but a 700 works fine without starting truck.

I like the interior space better in the Cascadia, being able to put cooler in compartment in sleeper. Slide mine under bed in Volvo which is a hassle but it's out of the way.

    chopper103in Thanks this.

I've got my microwave sitting beside my fridge on the top bunk strapped down with ratchet straps...with that net buckled over them as well. They seem to ride just fine up there. The fridge does great and hasn't kicked off yet. I do unplug it when attempting to run the microwave. But the most success I have with the microwave is running it while briefly idling.
