My Averitt adventure

I like the ideal of the company, but last week was a terrible week. The truck I was given was just unacceptable. I don't smoke, and it smelled like a ash tray.it was filthy. I wasn't expecting a brand new truck, just something decent. The apu never worked, it jerked. I kept telling them something was wrong. It broke down on a Sunday night. Roadside came and fixed it, soon afterwards started acting up again. Got to bham terminal, was in shop for 2 days.got going again with my loads. Towards end of week, started acting up again near atl.had to be towed to atl terminal. They claim it was low on coolant . filled it and forced regen. Started home to ms, started acting up again in Pell city, al . towed to bham terminal. They found out clutch was bad and metal in transmission fluid....smh. truck was put out of service. They me a better 09 volvo, but damage is done.was forgotten about through break down. Had to constantly call night fleet manager to get put in hotel.sorry maybe I'm venting, but enough is enough.

 

Stuff happens. Sucks but it will happen again someday to. It's trucking. I have seen some of the best private fleets broken down for hours and days. It's happened to me many times. Had a trailer split in two before. I remember I use to be good at cleaning a smelly truck I just got in to. As the years go by you will be put in better and better trucks. It will get better. It gets better. Hang in there
