Does anybody have any insight about Averitt flat bedding.
1) Do they give you all the securement stuff you need
2) What is the length of the flat bed Trailers
3) Do they ever give you other type trailers to pull, like vans
4) I heard they pay $600.00 per week during training, right or not
5) When do you get back home, they say home time weekly. Does that mean during the week or always on the weekend
Thanks for any help

Currently going through orientation at Averitt right now. Not sure about all of your questions but I answer some. Not sure about the length of their flat beds but the other trailers are 53'. Yes, during training you do get $600 per week and you get $300 during orientation plus reimbursement for travel fees. As for the weekends home, you get between 34-48hrs home.

From talking to a Selections Coordinator of Averitt:
Question 1 was answered, they supply all
Question 2 was answered, 48, 53 ft Flat beds
all else was answered
The person also said,
if you don't stay 6 months you then have to pay for the uniforms they gave you. The cost is approx. $300.00
Probably take it out of your last pay, if you leave before your 6 months is up.

I am an Averitt flatbedder so Ill try an answer these:
1. They supply all the equipment and will replace anything you need without much lip. Tarps are swapped out at certain terminals to be sent out and repaired. Limited number of terminals are flatbed "friendly" meaning only a few keep equipment and know anything about the division.
2. All the trailers I've pulled or seen are 53' steel frame with headache rack built on to front of trailer and tarp boxes between tandems.
3. Was told it was a possibility when I came on but never have. We have enough freight to move on our own trailers!
4. 600 while out in the truck with the trainer. If you have previous flatbed experience you are looking at 1-2 weeks. Orientation was 300 for the week
5. Hometime is weekends because most flatbed shippers and consignees are not open on weekends. Personally been home by midnight Friday every week. Leave out sometime Sun or first thing Mon depending on delivery location/time.
Feel free to ask me any more questions you may have. I came to Averitt from Maverick and have not regretted my decision. As long as you run hard during the week and otherwise do your job as a driver they treat you right and you bring home a good paycheck for 5 days worth of work. Hometime and benefits are leaps and bounds above most companies. Currently seeking another 8 or so drivers to bring on this year. Hiring areas I believe are AL, TN, NC, VA, KY. I applied for Averitt as well after leaving Maverick for a family emergency. They wouldn't rehire me or tell me why. Is it paid every week? And does the $300 skip a week when you start?

They won't rehire you because they have too many drivers and too few accounts now. Sorry just had to take a jab at them. To answer your question... yes the 300 for orientation is he'll back a week just like Maverick was for you.
