My recruiter wouldn't return my calls either, so I call another recruiter there and I got answers within 3 minutes.
I was asked if I perferd smoker or nonsmoker and she said someone that handles my state will call me later today to setup the orientation date.
So all recruiters are NOT created equal!

Just wondering if you could elaborate a little on the multiple orientations. is it like get offered jobs at several and take pick or something else.I'm learning thanks in advance. Riply

I was actually EMPLOYED with maverick for near 3 months before I had to leave due to my mother's declining health and her death 3 weeks later. I would've gone back but getting rehired there is a bit of a luck of the draw thing. Averitt seems of. I'm going to drop them a message on their facebook asking what's up. My recruiter has been on the ball about everything before. Not sure what's up with this non-contact thing.

Sorry about youre mom.I understand how it goes.Been there .I hope this one works out for you. What was maverick like as a new driver while you were there? Was it hard to get in there? what was orientation like? What were the physical and drug tests like ect. Thanks again. I'm also looking at avveret but I'm not sure about driving into auto parts stores and unloading them in tight little towns like up where I live.

On the recruiter thing, I think I'd be on the horn constantly until I got an answer from someone

She finally called me and said the closest trainer she had to me was in Columbus, OH and that I would be responsible for driving out to there and finding my own place to stay on the weekends as it is 'within driving distance' Ok how is a three hour drive considered driving distance? I have no intentions of doing a 6 hour round trip to come home on the weekends. I don't see how they don't have anybody in Indy or Fort Wayne to train. It doesn't make sense to me that I would still be in training but have to find my own way home or my own place to stay on the weekends that my trainer goes home. I don't have that kind of cash to spend on gas driving 172 miles ONE WAY. I guess I should look elsewhere for a driving job. That's insane.

agreed, most co's ive read about put you in a motel on the trainers home time or stay in truck or both. usualy motel. find another one! Anyway, do you realy want to unload batteries and starters at auto stores with like multiple loads per trip? extra I know, but is it worth it?

I don't mind hard work. At Maverick I did flatbedding with all the tarping and securing that it required. I loved the exercise. But you can't expect someone to be able to drive THAT far for a job. They could at least offer to toss my in the back of a truck for the weekend. They say that's within driving distance. OK. YOU drive 172 miles one way for your job with all the gas and lodging being your own responsibility. Then we'll talk.
