I'm considering Averitt is it worth it?

Company has excellent reputation from the drivers.

 

Only thing i worry about with maverick is that there whole fleet is automatics and i would probably struggle trying to learn to drive a manual transmission in the future only bad thing about maverick

 

Don't fret about not being able to shift after driving an automatic. It comes back to you really quickly. Plus quite a few companies are moving to auto shift trucks.

 

I start school in September and im a sin of a trucker so i also learned how to shift at a earlier age bt still working about it but ill figure it out as i go cause as of right now i think im ganna use maverick as my starter company and hopefully thats the right choice good luck with your decision and good luck with your career

 

I had some questions myself. What type of hotel do they put you in? When I was with Maverick it was an alright motel and PAM's was just straight trash. Do they give you a roomie? And how do the trainers run the trucks? Is it team after one day like PAM did me or are they actually going to TEACH me? Also what do they do with you if your trainer goes home for a weekend or time off when you're with him?

 

I have not started with maverick yet i just have a pre hire with them after i finish school in August or September but there is a really good thread on here by jim the hut i believe its called headed for little rock or something like that and he describes his whole experience with maverick as a student out of school
