I took 81--64 ROA to RMD Friday since it was snowing like crazy and didn't know how well those counties across there would be taking care of things.

I came through that way once and stopped at that truck stop around half way between rmd and nfk. Nice restaurant.

Glad I missed that. I thought I saw snow on the side of the road, right at the VA welcome center, but I wasn't sure. Guess I was right. At least it was pretty dry when I went through. 4-wheeler's are bad enough in dry conditions, much less snow, or fog, or rain, or sunlight, or another car is to close, or it's 5 O'clock in the evening, or it's 2AM and someone is trying not to weave... etc... :biggrin_25523:

Not sure of the cut line but it got heavier north of Roanoke. Once I went over the old foggy mountain on I-64 it was just rain. Barely made my pickup in Hopewell thanks to sitting behind the crashes on I-81.

I-95 was predictably heavy going home but at least it was dry.

I haven't been here in a while but I was kind of shocked to see the negative post.I am still at Averitt and doing well.

I agree that shuttling some LTL freight can throw a wrench into your sleep schedule. But they normally give you time before you have to pick up to get some extra rest before you have to do a night run. I have never been asked to run illegally.

as far as getting a 300 or 400 dollar check, that still has not happened for me. In fact, I just totaled up my miles for this week for a friend and they are right at 2400 miles for this week. That is leaving on Monday morning and coming back on Friday evening.

I really wonder if the people that get low miles are just not good at time management. Or perhaps they are only willing to drive during the day. As long as I am legal, I will do anything they send my way. the lowest check I have ever made was just under 600 dollars after taxes and everything. But that was because I had to have an extra day off.

I still don't have any complaints with this company. I am in a 2010 Freightliner. Sure, I would like a brand new truck, but this thing runs like a beast and I keep it clean. There are no issues with this truck so I do not mind having it.

I have never had my fleet manager comment on the route that I take. I believe that as long as you are not more than about 10 percent out of route, you are fine.I take the route that I want and stop wherever I choose to. I tried to stop at service centers just because it is a guaranteed place to park at night.

Remember to give a driver number of the person who influenced you the most if you get hired on. I will... umm I mean,... that driver will get a bonus! :p o_O:rolleyes:
