I'm a student -- just got my permit today -- and am ready to start applying for jobs. Averitt Express has a student training position in my area for DIX and is described as "Make deliveries to grocery warehouses in various cities east of the Mississippi River and in some Midwest areas." Anyone know who the customer is and what the position entails? It doesn't say whether or not unloading by driver is required.

The mileage says average 2500 a week at 35 cpm, plus 14.50 a stop, which sounds good to me.

NO, NO, NO ! Grocery warehouses are the worst. Most take a long time to load and unload. Now, if it is a drop and hook account then, $ 14.50 might be fine. But live load and unload, no way!

Keep looking. Have you seen the movie with Jack Nicholson; "One Flew Over The Cuckoo"s Nest?" It's about an insane asylum where everyone is babbling and drooling. Well, not much different than grocery warehouses.

Put that CDL to work for you; keep looking.
