Averitt express not what they seem, god it has been the easiest job I have ever had everything they promised me and more funny how I'm reading some of these replies it seems like some of these people are like job hoppers moving from one job to the next and crying like babies because Actually the truth is most of these so-called want to be truck drivers need to be sitting there ### on the couch at home if I would've known about this company 25 years ago I would be sitting here with 27 years and laughing all the way to the bank who in the world started paying drivers every time the truck breaks down you guessed it it was averitt express I once sat for three days waiting to get unloaded and what did this company do you guessed it they paid me to sit in the truck and check in once a day with the receiver, you people that are crying about how awful averitt express is I can tell you now you never gave them a chance shut your pie hole take yourself Home cry to mommy and let the real truck drivers enjoy everything Averitt express has to offer. You can find me at Roanoke Virginia service center just ask one of the mechanics about the guy they call peanut they'll send you directly to my truck if you get there early enough before I leave Sunday afternoon I can prove how many miles I drive and show you straight from the Qualcomm what my paycheck looks like 54k a year and I don't even break a sweet. My ira is earning more than it ever has in 20 years go ahead crybabies go cry home to mommy if you left big red then you probably left the best job you were ever going to have wow if I were you I'd hang up my hat now and retire because you're not gonna do any better at this rate

I loved working for Averitt. They were a joy to drive for but after almost 2 years they starved me out. A really good week became 1800 to 2000 miles. I've checked with many of their drivers in my area and they are still getting an 1800 mile average. If they could have gotten me 2500 or more miles a week like they did my first year I'd never have left.

I worked at averitt and at first they run the crap out me. Then it got to the point all I was doing was shuttle runs that the ltl guys wouldn't do because the miles were to short. I would leave out Sunday morning and go to Dallas to deliver Monday morning then I'd have to sit at Dallas terminal until midnight to get a load to Houston. Once I got to Houston it was another 10 hour break. I think I would average around 2000 a week. The best money I mad was running out of dollar general in Oklahoma. But I had to stay out three week out before I could come home because I lived near Memphis.
I was there three years so I gave them plenty of time to get it figured out. My fleet manager was awesome. When I started they gave me a Volvo with 60k but i hated the leg room. All I had to do was call him up and ask him for a prostar and two week later I had a brand new one.bamamac and chopper103in Thank this. -
