Looking for information about the Flatbed division compared to the other popular ones like Maverick or Mcelroy. Such as how many miles on average per week, paycheck average, truck condition, additional job opportunities, and any other info you would feel I would benefit from. I live in Southwest Virginia. Thank you.

Not alot of fb info on averitt. I am one of the loose nuts behind the wheel of this skate board. I ll start answering the fb bell lol. Idk about mcelroy or mav. Ive only worked for averitt. Miles here are avg 2200. But 3000+ is possible. Its konda up to you if yhat makes sense. We get the new trucks. Because we are awsome. Best part of this division of averitt is the ld planner and fleet manager we have. I dont wann go inti specifics of my pay checks. But generaly over 1000 gross. I have hit 1500 b 4. Usually this is how it goes 4 5 lds a week about 2200 to 2600 a wk. Plus 3 to 5 tarp jobs a week. Tarp jobs pay 35+15=50 dollars. No tarp pays 15 dollars to strap etc. Home friday leave mon or sunday.
kiwi23 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info curlyjoe. Do you usually park at a service center overnight or do you have to worry about getting a spot at a truck stop?
-
Maverick has all autos... Other than that I hear good things.
-
So does Averitt
-
The service centers. We get feul and i shower there. So i spend alot of nights at them, pretty nice most of them some are holes. Also they are not many up north. I spend alot of nights at Knoxville and winchester va.

What kinds of freight are you hauling?
-
Also, at what times are you generally driving? I've heard from others that Averitt likes you to drive a little later in the day.
-
General fb freight. No equipment. We are very heavy 33800 mt weight. So you have to deal with that. It hurts us at certain vustomers. Jasper tn is our biggest customer. Its vinyl siding. Some ld tarp others dont. We also pull alot of kiln dried lumber. Our fb customers like most other Fb customers have banker hours. Its unload and reload all before 3 o'clock everday. Ive never drove all night here. Averits van guys are robots though and do this often.
