Averitt pays HHG miles I went with Averitt because I thought they were one of the better companies. Not only do they short you by paying HHG miles, their system shorted me as much as 25% on occasion. I spoke to middle level management about this and was eventually told, "well... that's our system". Which translates to, take it or leave it. So I left it. It is also very difficult to get detention out of them. I never got a lot of miles, averaged about 1700.

Do you know anything about the team drivers? Good equipment? Miles? Home weekly, for how long? Volvo's, Freightliner's, Peterbuilt's? 10sp or auto? Which terminal do you work out of? Do you possibly know how they compare to YRC/USF Glen Moore? T-I-A...

As far as trucks, we have a mixed fleet, but everything new they are buying is all Volvo with automatics. We got a message a couple of weeks ago saying they are wanting teams for the new Shoe Carnival account. Said they would be running to WA with stops in UT. Avg 5000 miles per week, split .42 CPM. Don't know how we compare to the other companies mileage rate, probably a little lower. Single TL driver top out now is .415

How long have you been with them? And what are the key areas to be concerned with? In your opinion of course. Not that I would expect it to be alot different than where I am, just don't want to move over to something worse knowingly beforehand. TTT

It's hard for me to compare them to anyone else because I have been an owner-operator or working for small outlaw outfits for so long. I really hesitated coming here for that reason and went through some culture shock. But nothing has changed since my first post on here. Still haven't missed a weekend and mileage has dropped a little, but still getting 2100 on a bad week. We haven't had pay or benefit cuts of any kind like some companies have. They haven't done any hiring to speak of except where they have opened up new yards. The last 3 were in VA,PA and MI. Occasionally a special deal will open up, like the new team account I told you about and they will always offer it to us first before they hire from the outside. The Dollar General account is not a bad deal for pay and hometime, but too much physical labor for me. Especially in that hot trailer ion the summer, but some of the younger guys don't mind. As far as things to watch out for, the only thing I have noticed would be the difference in fleet managers. I have heard guys complain about things that don't happen to me and it usually boils down to the fleet manager, When I first started I wasn't happy with my miles and a few other things. After about 5 months I got a new fleet manager and it was the difference between night and day. Happy now. Like a different company. They claim they don't have any sayso, and blame everything on the load planner, but that can't be so. I saw too much of a change.

Contrary to what mustang gt says they do not put you up in a motel if you're truck is broke down. They have you sleep in an empty truck if you're at a yard. But the truck isn't necessarilly clean because drivers detail their own trucks. This is probably why you will see drivers sleeping on couches while their truck is getting worked on

I didn't mean to imply that a motel was provided everytime your truck went into the shop, but they won't leave you stranded.

I wonder if there's any leway on this? If not, seems a silly reason to scratch a company off my list.

| Oh just another though, they are claiming they are an EOE company, So if a Hassidic Jew, Muslim or Siek wanted to work for them, would they still mandate a shaved face? (Or Amish,,, but that's kinda silly)
