Hey, I hope things are still going well. I will be preparing my app for them tonight. I see they have a referral bonus, if you want it, send me a pm. First come first serve, but if the BikerDon gets this message, he gets it. Hey, its fair, lol.

Kinda curious though, how aggressive is there anti-idling policy? Have you gotten any hints on this yet? I dont idle like crazy, I just dont want to be expected to sleep in a 100 degree truck.

Got a call from them this morning. It is looking good. I was told I would have to do a 3-5 day refresher with a driver. Been off the road since last July. But I guess now it is just a matter of waiting for the next phone call.

Looks like I am going to have to choose between Gainey, Barr-Nunn, Marten and Schaffer Trucking.

I live in Northern Missouri. So, I will just drive to Granger, IA. They pay .17cpm for me to drive there. I am scheduled to let them know at 10 am if I am coming.

I actually have one other company I am waiting to get final word from. They've got till 0959. And two other I have to say "No thank you" to. One is Knight, but the wife said,"You are not going back to Kansas City!" lol

I hope things are still going well, Bikerdon, waiting for an update.

One Question: Once I am on the road, I would like to post weekly updates of my progress with Barr-Nunn. Do the mods prefer those type of post as their own threads. I dont want to hi-jack anyone else's thread.

Update-Things are going well. Barr-Nunn is looking for more drivers if anyone wants to give my name, I'd appreciate it for the referral bonus. Just tell them Don Holbrook referred you. Thanks. I have actually been running mostly days and liking it better than nights. I heard there are more loads than drivers so I have been moving. I am delivering my load tonight and I already have the next 2 loads for the weekend. I remember at my last company waiting for hours for a load, now I get them ahead of time. Making more money with the band pay. Company does keep up the maintenance on their trucks, had to have headlight fixed and A/C and I was routed right to the terminal, course picked up a load on the way. Will be with the company 3 months on the first and it's going good.

ok here we go guys n gals, i will be as honest as possible with my opinion thus far, BikerDon, you are so lucky with the air thing. thur. finish orientation assigned truck, fri. morning get load to dekalb,il. condenser blows, no air 95.degrees, to their credit they put me in a hotel for the night. sat. load home. will reroute mon. to granger to fix air. mon. no reroute comes on q-com. rutro..methinks oops. hit ramp 30 mile from home n call with ulimatum, fix air or i go home. so they talk nice and i run till wed. morn. with them putting me in hotel everynite...can u say free breakfast and HBO, i thought u could lol. really folks, they could have fixed the truck faster but at least they done me right. orientation was normal Safety Safety Safety. great freight, great lanes, slowwwww trucks,62. embarrassing after all these years as owner/op to be passed by orange and yellow, ouch! went to volvo today to see about trading my ole classic in for a 780, their coming over tomorrow to look at it and give me a value, think i'm gonna stay with Barr-Nunn, but in my own truck, too fixed in my ways to be a company man, authority problem and all that. lol.. would i recomend (how u spell dat?) this company? YES do they have bad things about them? SURE they all do. will they work with you? YES communication is the key, they can't read your mind. all in all, looking good so far.

    sydsdriver Thanks this.
