I just left my current company today after 8 months. Ive been having conversations back and forth with a recruiter and all seems good. I try to take every bad review i read on the internet with a grain of salt because i know the feeling of having a bitter taste after working with a company. I am more focused on a few small things. I was told i would be put on SE regional, so home every weekend. I live in Florida so with that being my residence, a dry van company saying they will get you there every weekend makes me think they are doing something right. I have also read that some drivers have been disqualified and sent home because there shifting aspect of the road test was not up to par of the instructor. I have been driving a automatic for the majority of my trucking career but have also worked with companies that run manuals as well. However, like most drivers i tend to get clammed up when under review and get hit with that rusty spell. once on the road i get the feel for my equipment and the fact of not being under review on my shifting allows me to relax and eventually it becomes part of life, just shifting without thinkin about it!
any thoughts on the regional and road test very much appreciated.
