I started just before Christmas of 2012. Then i had off the whole week of christmas. So i ended up going to orientation, then was off almost 10 days before dispatch. (did not mind at all). First week was great. Even made it home one night during the week. So far so good. Give you plenty of time to get to where your going.

    BubbaTrucker Thanks this.

Most of the old posts were '08 to '10. Anybody currently working there willing to share how it's going these days.

Just hitting my 5 year anniversary this weekend. Never had a year under 52k. I should break 60k this year. I get plenty of time off. If you can't handle driving at night I wouldn't recommend coming over. The trucks are well maintained.

We had a few loads to Syracuse but that was about it for upstate NY. Most Upstate stuff is near Newburgh and along 84. Nothing towards Rochester or Buffalo.

I assume that you're talking dollars, but when I worked for them OTR between 2007 and 2009, I don't think I even drove 60,000 miles per year ! There was TONS of sitting , getting home late, and then staying home 2 or 3 days longer than you wanted, because they had no freight, Barr-Nunn was BAD !!

I don't know how they are now, but I was OTR for them in 2007 to 2009, they were absolutely HORRIBLE !!!! Sit, sit, sit , 2, 3, 4.5 days, I sat between loads , waiting for a load for 4.5 days, because they're CHEAP , they won't dead head you very far to get a load, they would rather give you peanuts for Layover. I sat for 4.5 days on I-95 in VA , because they refused to use and pay for a good freight broker, they got loads themselves, and it took F O R E V E R !! They are super tightwads !! I had a friend that sat for 6 days once, waiting for a load ! They cut Layover pay TWICE while I was there, because they were paying so much out ! They didn't work on getting more loads or dead heading you further to get loads, oh no, they just cut Layover pay from $80 every 24 hrs to $50 for 34 hrs and $50 for every 24 hour period after the first 34 hours ! That's $50 for 34 hrs of sitting and waiting for their s l o w ways, what a joke !! And while you sit, NO IDLING ! They ONLY allowed you to idle if it was 15 degrees or less ! NO idling in the summer, they FIRED A LOT of Drivers for idling ! Barr-Nunn was a cheap, tightwad bunch of a-holes ! They would check the temperature where you were, and if it was over 15 degrees, you got called, warned and complained to, and ######*d out ! After 2 or 3 warnings about your idling, you would be fired !! Their routes they gave you were MANDATORY , you HAD to follow them, or they called you, because they watched you ! Your route would include NO TOLL ROADS either, they were CHEAP ! I remember having to take secondary roads in PA, mountainous, steep, curvy, narrow, because they didn't allow you on the PA TURNPIKE ! And then after the Shipper getting you the load 2 or 3 hours late and having to take those secondary roads, if you were late, even 5 minutes late, they would be all over me, and madder than anything, like the world was going to end over a 5 minute late delivery because they speed limit your truck and put you on secondary roads with lower speed limits and Shipper's being late, BUT it was TOTALLY the Driver's fault, they were COMPLETE JERKS ! They were great nannies, they were BIG BROTHER, calling you about everything, even hard brakes ! Have a hard brake, and your phone would be ringing ! They slam your DAC report with lies when you leave too, mine says that I hit a parked car once, I NEVER HIT OR TOUCHED OR MADE ANY CONTACT WITH A CAR !!! Barr-Nunn is full of despicable LIARS !!! Get away from the selfish criminals at Barr-Nunn, DON'T work there !!!

Yep, those were some tough times back then. Now no more Kellogg's and plenty of reasonable miles albeit most of 'em at night depending where you are. We don't get called about idling anymore. They put ambient air sensors on the trucks. They won't idle between 40-68 degrees. They just lowered that from 72 degrees. Money is good, time off is superior, trucks are new. Can't ask for much more. It ain't perfect, but still here :)
