Barr Nunn

I agree-they do not care one whit about anyone or anything except getting their freight delivered on time. I currently work for them and have been having alot of problems with them. They expect you to run illegal on your logs and have a fit if you won't. But they do pay practical miles and high milage per mile pay. I grossed over 50,000 last year and would not go to another company unless they govern their trucks lower than the curent 65mph speed.

i have been with Barr Nunn for 9 months but will probably be leaving soon ..i've been treated well and run pretty good.....when running....but i sit EVERY(practically) weekend...4 out of the last 5 weekends i have sat 48 hrs or longer..the other weekend i had a 900 mile load and 3 days to get there...i was out for a month straight and had 7 days layover.(i only received (2) $80 layovers)....my weekly average (including pay period ending 7/11) is 2095 miles....(which is not bad for the days i am running)..had a good TM but was given a new one last week, and he does'nt seem too bad...but i am sitting more in my truck than i am at home, and i can't take it much longer..regional is not an option, besides the decrease in miles, there is a 5 cent pay cut.....and now i'm being hassled about idling...i just sat 2 days in 85 degree temps, and my indling this week is at 63%...first time i will be quiting a company that i like working for....

I've been with Barr-Nunn for about a month now. I am on the Ohio Regional. I really like it so far! I get around 2200 mi. a week.I was OTR with another company. And it seems to me,that most companies have low freight on the weekends alot of times. Thats why I went regional with Barr-Nunn. Alot of times your sitting on the weekend anyway OTR. And with there band pay. You might not lose as much pay as you think. Most of my runs I get band pay on. Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents.

85% turnover may be low; the question, though, is why it changed from 45 -50%. It was a great company when we leased on and that lasted 2 years. It has changed in a HUGE way with the change in President.

I've worked for a few companies.... they all seem to be the same. I know they are some good companies where the manager or dispatcher will listen to the driver, and be honest and not try to blow smoke up your tail.

My TM is so 2-faced... he sees around corners.... That's why I stay away from him.

I think you are probably in their best region. I've talked to lots of company drivers at Washington Court House and they are very satisfied with miles, pay. However, if that region is not an option, they are not so great anymore. In the last 3 trips home for time off, our [unpaid] deadhead totaled over 1,000 miles.

Happy to hear this. I researched and i'm heading to Washigto Court House Novemember 5th. Ohio Regional is what I want. 40-50K is fine for me. After 3 years LTL I realized that
1. Home ever night doesn't do much when your choices are to sleep 8 hours and head right back in or sleep less to mow the lawn and talk to wife. Night board wasn't much better but you logged 14 and worked more and on day shift they started the dock working program. I went to truck driving school, not dock workers school. I was doing 4-6 hours daily on the dock.
