    Hiyas fellow drivers,

Before I started working here I came to these forms for information about the company... Oh boy was I worried! But I've been here almost three months, and so far not that bad.

I started off as South East regional, but quickly realised I liked money more than home time, so I switch to otr a couple weeks ago. My avg miles, while se regional, was around 2500-2700 a week. I am close to 2600-2700 as otr. (more money, same miles due to flat. 40 cent rate).

I've read these posts about how barr nunn doesn't care, and how horrible they are... And I gotta say, totally not my experience. If anything it's the complete opposite. Every time I speak to someone at grainger I feel respected. I feel like these people actually care about their jobs, and the drivers. Safety is a delight to talk to. Dan is very helpful, Teri as well. (Teri is way to cheerful! Love it when I talk to her) my team leader was kyle until he just recently went to planner. So I am with josh now who is treating me very well. First week with him I am getting 2700 approx. Not that bad (from what I'm use to), but then again I came from a megs carrier where my solo checks were, 500$ a week.

Are there somethings I wish would change? Of course, no company is perfect, but as of right now the complaints I have are extremely minor (looking at you grainger shop-hours). I have been treated fairly sense I arrived and don't see that changing. (so much in fact I am considering their l/p). Do you job, and work hard. That's one thing they demand. Hope that helps!

Truck problems. :( hopefully I can get this load outta memphis... But anyway, just thought I would update the thread about my week.

If everything goes according to plan, (if the truck lasts) I'll end up with 2800 approx, this week. First full week with new the team leader.

Started the week out of miami, to groveland. Groveland to Brandon, Brandon to brooksville, brooksville to Jackson, mo, Jackson to memphis, tn, memphis (hopefully) to louisville, Louis to miami. Then a trip back up to around tampa (probably groveland to Brandon) and I'm off for a deserved home time! :)

I'm horrible at these types of posts, but I figured there is no one really doing it so... Why not me?

    Stay safe out there drivers!

Thought I would put a FYI before I hit the hay.

Barr Nunn is trying to be as dot compliant as possible when it comes to logs, and etc. They are very anal about DVIs and will call to remind you to do them. It is required by dot, but sometimes I forget, can get a friendly reminder from safety.

Like I said in the first post, safety is a joy to talk to, and even when they "##### me out", it's in a very respectful way.

Any who, truck is lasting! Yay! Will be making my drop Sunday morning. Then have a preplan from groveland to Brandon. (called it!) 5 days off here I come!

Sorry haven't updated for a little while! Been busy!

The five days at home actually turned into 12. Upon return to work my truck broke down on route to groveland, FL for a pick up. Truck was in the shop for 6 days and on the 12th day it was fixed and received a load that day.

After that it's been pretty regular. I came back on a Wednesday, that week, and only received around 2300 miles. Not bad losing 2 days..

Now this week started off alow but looks like I'll be getting 2750 (miles), plus my csa bonus Yay!
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. :)

Sorry for the late reply!, but I was sat in an 10' prostar with 370k on it. Now, that sounds bad, I know. But for some reason it doesn't bother me. There are issues but none that I would write about.

I have seen people get issued brand new trucks as of late. Plus I was told that I'll have this truck until 420-430k. After that I have been promised a lot newer truck. Still, it doesn't bother me. It just has a lot of character. :)

I wouldn't describe it as “based" but rather which one is my "goto" for pm's and etc. That would be charlotte, NC. (guess you can call it based depending on how you define it..)

This week is going to be a light week (per my request). My birthday is a week away, so I've told my team leader that I just want to relax this week, before home time.

Relax to me is: not running off recap the entire week. Which I have done. Most recent was going 3 weeks without taking a 34. (yes... They can do it and will) that was fine with me... I was getting great miles and earned some respect from my team leader.

I'll probably get 2200 miles this week, which is fine by me. :)

A little add. We just received a 1 cent pay increase. So now, 1-5 years of experience (with hazmat) base pay is 41 cents a mile. When you haul hazmat you receive and additional 2-3 cent extra (43-44 cpm). Or 1-5 years w/o hazmat is.. Now.. 38 cpm? (not clear on that one.)

Wow! Been awhile sense I updated this! Last week I took 5 days off for my birthday, and came back on Friday morning (4-18). Right away they gave me two loads that were back to back equalling over 800 miles. (approx 350 miles was either bob tail or deadhead) Now waiting for a driver to get here so I can continue his leg of load (550 loaded, 113 mt) heading to Middleton, PA.

Still have no experienced any of the complaints people have complained about on pervious posts. Again, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

    Stay safe!
