I have been driving trucks for over 25 years, and have never been treated as badly as I have with Barr-Nunn. But i have mostly worked for small companies, and cant get used to theway things are done in the bigger outfits. If you want to stay out all week or poss 2 weeks and bring home around 600.00 a week then go for it. but you wont get much more than that. It is forced dispatch also even tho they say its not.

I'm in the NE regional fleet and I'm starving. The last 4 weeks, I've grossed- $550, $540, $350, and $410. I always do an empty call as soon as I have my paperwork, have NEVER turned down a load. They are giving all the freight to the daily pay drivers right now, because they pay them a set rate. Mileage guys get what's left over, which isn't much. Daily rate is no longer available for new hires. If you leave within 6 months, they take back whatever sign on bonus they gave, and charge you $85.00 to detail the tractor. Do you think I'm looking for a new job? Hungry out of Manchester

We all know that trucking companies do NOT use "forced dispatch" (except for maybe some of the old teamsters companies). What most don't know is the definition of "forced dispatch": hold a gun to your head and/or threaten you family's well being if you don't take the load (although the later of this def may also be debatable if they don't pay you enough to eat, pay the doctor, or rent braces for your teenager).

my dad drove for Barr nunn. he was with them almost a year. he got decent miles, got home every other weekend. everything was going good. he was having a little trouble with his log book. he was in Kentucky they did a dot inspection on his truck .He got a perfect inspection everything was clean no log violations nothin. so he calls his dispatcher and tells them that he got a clean dot inspection. they send him a message via qualcomm and it says congrats since u got a clean dot inspection were gonna giveyou a new 2008 atlas.A week later he goes to the terminal in granger iowa to pick up his atlas and they terminated him.

| Many drivers were forced to quit or were terminated at Barr-Nunn this year. All in an effort to restructure the pay scale. That company also did not pay out on vacation time that was due to those drivers. The miles still are not there at Barr-Nunn. Sign on with them at your own risk.
