You see, the trucking companies DO read these forums (and post messages too).

Above message is wrong, you now have to drive 120,000 miles to get the appreciation bonus, twice as long. They also cut the match on your 401-k plan in half to 1cent per mile from 2 cents a mile ! Barr- Nunn stinks , please go and read the message I wrote on 12-17-09, you'll learn a lot more about how cheap they are and how they fire Drivers all the time . Look under Report a bad company.

You guys dont give a rats ### about your drivers. You have a driver that had his home burn down the day before Thanksgiving and you guys up there in the office havent shown this driver an ounce of appreciation OR compassion. Wait, thats not true. You authorized a week off without pay and swithched him to the SE regional board(which also means a cut in pay) so he can be home on the weekends to try to deal with the mess. (And thats home ONLY if your ignorant planners get him home.) I have NEVER seen a company that doesnt even TRY to help one of its drivers when a castastrophe such as this strikes. Even sorry Covenant Transportation has a fund that drivers can go to if they need help. You appreciate your drivers....yeah right. All you appreciate is the money they put in your greedy hands and pockets.

Not to defend Bar-Nunn, but they are not a charity organization.

If the guy had a house, he should have insurance on it.

Maybe the driver should take some time off, and get his affairs in order.

What do you expect the company to do? Wave their magic wand, and make everything better?

No, they are not a charity organization. Yes they have freight that needs to be moved. They did transfer him to another division so he "can get home on the weekends" to take care of the mess. And, so far, they haven't cut his pay for going from otr to se regional.

    With that said....

The point was.. They say they appreciate their drivers. The above scenario was to show they DONT appreciate anything but the all mighty dollar. People do not matter to this company.

Do they get him home on the weekends as promised???? NO.

He is not expecting the company to wave any kind of wand to make everything better. He DOES expect them to keep their word so that he can get this handled so he CAN have his mind on his job where it needs to be.

As for taking time off... your funny. Who can afford to take time off??? Not any driver I know, and ESPECIALLY one who works for Barr-Nunn.
The miles are inconsistant at best.

And having insurance or not having insurance is not the issue. Appreciation and compassion ARE!!! And this company has NEITHER in my opinion.

Please feel free to read the other posts from Barr-Nunn drivers and ex-drivers. Maybe that will shed some light on it for you.

Got a feeling (I may be wrong and if I am, my appologies) that the response is from someone inside Barr-Nunn who has no idea of what trucking reality is. Kinda like their dispatchers(except for a couple) and ALL of their wanna be planners who have n ever seen the inside of a truck much less driven one. Don't have a clue as to how think of anyone other than themselves.

I keep telling the driver he needs to find another job, but he keeps hoping it will get better. For his sake.... I hope it does.

First off, this thread is almost 2 years old.

Second thing, this was not posted by anyone from Barr-Nunn. It was posted by a former MOD who regularly posted news articles from a variety of reliable sources.
