Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Biodiesel & Alternative Fuels Forum This is a forum to discuss bio-diesel and other kinds of alternative fuels. We think bio-diesel is the next revolution as Hydrogen costs too much to make and putting food (Ethanol) in your tank is not feasible and will cause food prices to skyrocket. What say you on bio-diesel? Should we start this bio-diesel revolution and kick it into high gear?

Probably more than a truck driver can afford.

Recently I hauled a bunch of Hyundais. Unbelievable acceleration and according to the trip computers some of the 3.3L Sonatas are getting as much as 47 MPG.

I wouldn't at all be afraid to buy a 07 or 08.

I'm waiting for Nissan to come out with a hybrid and have it stick for a couple of years... I've owned 2 Nissans, and they are some of the toughest little things I have ever encountered.

no - they are made by american workers though... in alabama I believe.

my vrod and my softail are union made - as well as my f150..

the other bikes were all imports and union made in japan..

and how many Prius's have you driven? They are not small cars. My wife has a yaris which is a MUCH smaller car then the prius and I have all the room in the world. I'm 6'1" and 370lbs and that little car has almost as much driver room as my suburban.
just how much room you need? I live in the land of bigger is better trucks. People here think you need an F350 crew cab for a family of four to drive.

And just what is it called that gasoline does? I forget.

I've been watching the development of the air cars for about 3 years now and I'm astounded at how far they have come.

So am I..... I think they will have a car that can run 2000 miles or more on 1 tank (70Mph) in the next 5 years or so.. That's just cool if you ask me... This is the way to go if you ask me.. Heck with Bio fuels...

The only real issue as of right now is the weight of the vehicle.. They just can't make them that big.. Development of lighter and stronger materials will allow the cars to get bigger.. Aerodynamics will also play a BIG roll with AIR cars as well.. So, plan on these cars getting low and looking strange..
So what, $2 dollars to driver 300 miles heck ya I am interested...

a few years ago they all said he couldn't develope a motor that does what they do now so who knows what a few more years will bring. And people just don't a car that can run 2000 miles. You could make the car bigger by increasing the air use and decreasing the distance. How many people need t run more then 100 miles. And it's not like the 50's when you had to make the argument that one car has to do everything. How many people youknow with just one car? I know I have sold most of mine and I still have 5.
