| Biodiesel & Alternative Fuels Forum This is a forum to discuss bio-diesel and other kinds of alternative fuels. We think bio-diesel is the next revolution as Hydrogen costs too much to make and putting food (Ethanol) in your tank is not feasible and will cause food prices to skyrocket. What say you on bio-diesel? Should we start this bio-diesel revolution and kick it into high gear? |

| Take a good look at those two pics. There is no way that is a F150 versus a Cooper. There is not enough mass in the cooper to jack that p/u up like that.

| i promise you Brick your truck would look very similar in that same accident. You are talking a head on collision with a big truck and who knows what the speeds involved are. The f series trucks are well known for crushing the lower half of your body turning you into a cripple. No offense but I'd rather be dead. Plus that looks like a smart not a yaris. the door on a yaris is not that far back over the rear wheel |

| Yes sir, Learned that one the hard way while I was in the fire dept. People have way to many spray cans under the sink. Spray bottles do just as well and don't go boom when they get hot.

Arguing with a semi and you will lose any way. F150 or a little car. All tho when I was on the fire department we went on a wreck once where a semi ran a red light and t-boned an old 70s some thing boat of a car. Car driver WALKED away. Semi rolled on the drivers side, took a long time to get him cut out (foot was pinned) and then he rode the helicopter to the hospital.

| Compressed air isn't exactly a new idea. It pre-dates internal combustion by about 60 years. [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. And as usual, the energy equation doesn't work out. A huge amount of energy is required to compress the air in the first place, and much of it is wasted as heat into the atmosphere. If the tank ever ruptured, you'd have a rocket-powered aircar. It's still an interesting idea. Other than the energy required to compress the air, the aircar is pollution-free, silent and cheap to operate.

What do you mean by HUGE energy required to compress the air? How does $2-$4 per fill = huge energy? And again if a tank ever ruptured (highly unlikely event) it would not be a rocket because there would be no fuel, just air.... I would be more concerned with the hybrid cars with electric motors powered by batteries having an issue with rupturing, this would be more of a concern in many different ways, but they can be purchased now at the dealership today... | the only way you would get propulsion from a rupture is if you had a small hole to exhaust the pressure. The carbon fiber tanks if hit will split wide open releasing the pressure in a large WHOOSH just like you get from a bead sealer when you have a tire mounted, just a bigger one! Besides this is the same BS you hear about hydrogen and they used to say about putting gasoline in a vahicle tank. and these are anything but silent. the one I have seen video of is quite obnoxous but they did say it was a prototype so it probably wasn't insulated. WHen gas was $.05 a gallon it may have been cheaper then compressing air but at $5 a gallon allot of things become MUCH more feasable. Besides if you run solar or wind energy then you don't have to worry about it |
