Biodiesel & Alternative Fuels Forum This is a forum to discuss bio-diesel and other kinds of alternative fuels. We think bio-diesel is the next revolution as Hydrogen costs too much to make and putting food (Ethanol) in your tank is not feasible and will cause food prices to skyrocket. What say you on bio-diesel? Should we start this bio-diesel revolution and kick it into high gear?

BioDiesel is made from dead animals here in Iowa
I deliver to three biodiesel plants here in Iowa and soy is not being used much to make diesel anymore because the cost of soy oil skyrocketed. Instead the plants use rendered animals to make fuel. Did you know that all the hogs that die enroute to the slaughtering facility are chopped up in little pieces, screw pressed to remove all fat, and trucked to the biodiesel plant at temps of at least 150 degrees to make fuel. Did you know that egg laying hens are slaughtered en mass every few months because their productivity drops. They are chopped up and pressed to make fuel too. So how sustainable and green is that? If you are a vegetarian you better stay away from biofuel too.

I ran hopper bottom for a while and hauled meal out of Tyson , Swift , and others including feather meal and blood meal .I also hauled a lot of meat and bone meal from cattle which could cause mad cow disease . These loads were supposed to go to feed mills making poultry feed . The were then supposed to be washed . Some companies would not load trucks that had carried meat and bone meal for the last load and would ask to see the bills from that load . trailers I also ran tanker from these companies hauling the fat which is now being used for biodiesel .
