Hey JesusFreak, how was Muncie? I am looking in to that school and am curious as to when you first applied and how long did it take before you started there? I am going to call them tomorrow, I think, and set up the informational seminar. Thanks, good luck, and God bless!
I don't run away from problems I try to fix them. I think the reason we have this problem is that if a driver doesn't like something he storms off like a child instead of confronting the problem and working to resolve it as I'm doing with my company. I drive 49 states and all of Canada and rarely find myself close to my home when it's time for a restart. If life could only be that simple.
HHG miles weren't so bad, 30 years ago. Change companies............ also, take your 34 at home.......
True, 34 restart may not be mandated but driving or should I say working more than 70 hours in 8 days is not allowed so what do you do. This blog is not as much a complaint as it is to open a discussion about this issue.
A 34h Restart is not mandated by the DOT. Not sure I understand the Problem, plenty of Companies pay Practical Miles. So just quit and go work for one that pays Practical Miles.
Rodney Lane I'm not a company driver. The driver asked about where they run and I answered him. If he's looking for a company that runs in a particular area now is the time to ask about that not after he goes there. He could have a dozen reasons why he wants to run in a particular area. I don't care whos truck it is ultimately it's my CDL and life and I have the final say on what I do and where I go not anyone else. As far Koch goes there average at best typical big company. Unlike someone of your character I don't have to settle for average.
Well I worked for koch from Oct 09 to April of 2011 and I liked it, got my own truck and their o/o pay sucks that's why I didn't stay, but my truck wad falling apart so on Saturday I gave it back to the finance company and now I'm up here in Minneapolis going back to work for koch. Last time I was here I went throught 5 dispatchers and for the last one they were great, and the operation manager wouldn't let me out of the van side to go over to the flatbed side, but now I'm doing the flatbed side. U know what so what if they don't go to the west coast, so what??? Cry baby, so what if they go to east coast so what cry many, its their trucks they pay for the fuel and pay for the tolls, #### ur a COMPANY DRIVER, u go were they tell u, #### get it through ur head, oh by the way they never bugged me about the lease purchase crap,
Trucking "old school" style.
