Well to each their own..
Well it all depends on you!!! Im sittin between two werner driver, where they run dedicated, so u have to give a min, its sounds gud when there guiding u in, but u have to find wat makes u money and things dat dnt, peace brother
Sounds like to me he is another new driver talked into a lease situation when he had no reason to jump the gun! A new driver has no reason to imediatley jump into ownership and as far as werner leaving him on the side of the road, if he's a lease then he does'nt legaly work for werner; he works for himself. Because he's purchased the truck, he now subs out his services to werner and when you do this it's important to remember that they will always make sure their Company drivers are rolling first because they will make more profit. It's just good common sense buisiness, rotate stock and use the lease/OO for overflow because they have to pay them more which is less money for the Company (pretty simple to understand really, and their not being a jerk about it their just in this to make money like everyone). Once you buy (or lease which is the same thing) you better be on your A game or you will lose, you are now competing for a larger peice of the pie and must understand if they decide at that point to help you, it's out of concern for THEIR bottom line not yours, so it will be totaly your responsibility
good luck with werner they suck knight is a good company in sum ways but they have there bad to i drove for knight over a year and left thinkin i could do better but now i am back with knight
Companies love the Dollar accounts but the drivers get tired of it. Longest I heard a driver running one was 3 months.
I used to run to miami every week to a place that was set up for straight trucks I had to blindside into the driveway almost the whole city block, and jacknife into the dock, unfortunatly the active railroad tracks were so close that the reefer unit and right side drivers were in between the tracks, couldn't back in if there was any cars or trucks parked near the dock and had to move occasionally if a train was coming through, but the people were nice and they unloaded real fast, which was a good thing. I only ruined one tire on the edge of the track
now the only thing that i no of that is good about werner is you can quit and you will if you smart they are in spite of what some rookies say are one of the worst companys in the business and they keep getting worse. now to whoever said that it is against the law to put a driver out of the truck away from home well i got newa for you it id not against the law you think it is , i may be wrong , only been out here 50 yrs but i didint work for werner , you still think it is then get me the federal statute or state statute for that mnatter dont think you will be abel to find one warner is like most companys they could care less about the drive , i fed two of there drivers along with a man and wife team with crst in san antonio because they could not load them and refused to send them money and all trucking companys will do just that. its there truck and they can and will put you on the ground whenever and wherever they want to against the law? no it is not it is ther equipment, dont believe all the truck driver storys it can get expensive if you do. best of luck to you all.----southernpride
Unfortunately most of your large companies are all the same. Good luck!!
well hello there i work for them for two years now and i feel go to be working for them. After 5 months with them i got on a dedicated route and i got a 0.03 cent pay raise and 11 days out and 3 home.I got a good pete 379 with all the works. It just depends who y talk to and the way y talk to them.I cant complaine the only way i would leave is to do heavy haul otherwise i am going to stay here because all of them out there are all the same just diffrent names but same crap.
that's right, at your expense... They are ARSEholes but, they have to pay to get you home... UNLESS you break the law.. such as drugs, or attack them. If they put your husband out on the side of the road and he was hit by a car and died.. they would be in a world of trouble. No company will risk their licence for that.
after i got on here today, and called him when i got done work he told me the VP of Saftey called him to work things out, and to see what they can do. i guess the promiss of a lawyer and news got back to them. yeah he was offered the ticket home Longdayoff but at our expense in the end. and yes they said to just drop him i heard it from my husbands "trainer"
Hey longdayoff, how are you??? It may be against the law, but that doesn't mean that they follow the law. Just like keeping a log, some cheat and some don't.
The Law! It is againest the law for any truck driving company to just dump a driver along side the road. It makes for good reading but, it just want happen. I'm sure your husband was offered a ticket home... Tell the truth.
Your husband should of went to there nearest terminal and got a bus ticket home the way my husband did. He sat there until they came across with the ticket, and then it took him 4 days to get back to Fla., from Arizona. I've also called the school where my husband took the course, training for the CDL, however they did nothing and are still pushing this comp. for new recruits..
My husband joined up with them a couple of weeks ago and they "Promissed" him this and "PRomissed" him that, well now they didnt pay him for his orientation, and are paying him less and can't guarintee that he will be making the money they said he would be. they told his trainer to DUMP him on the side of the road in Indiana and that he has to find his own way back to Dallas. This coming from a company that says that they look out for their drivers safety. He has been driving for about 20 years now and this is the worst company EVER.
Your not the first and you won't be the last. I guess live and learn. My husband started with them right out of school. Yes, they do suck!!! However, I hear they treat you good if, you are a trainer.
Sound to me like someone is trying to tell you something
Yea knight is another messed up company, a friend of mine worked there and got screwed and with out the kiss lol, i called the boise terminal once and talked to the doofus recruiter, he told me i had to much time off the road so they couldnt even talk to me, wtf? did i forget how to drive or shift? NOT. so they can get lost,, just another steering wheel holding jippo company.
Skip good luck I hope its better for you then it is for us . Hubby is a Team driver and there miles this week was 2200 i'm sure next week they will get about 1200 miles they like to make sure they keep ya at poverty level
You just may want to rethink Werner. They are good to promise you the world but a lot of drivers are leaving the company because they aren't giving any miles. and your weekly paycheck omg you make more working in an onion field then you doing driving for them. Hubby been there for 12 years and he is coming home no sense in risking his life everyday for a petty 200 bucks a week if he is lucky. I make more then him and i'm a part time cashier. who would have ever thought that a cashier would make more then a driver that keeps america running
A different idea.....looking for an O/O with coming...
