  1. Parking on the Fuel Island

    by , 05.15.2012 at 11.04 PM
Ok, today about 1:30 or so I stopped at the Flying J in Warrenton, Mo for fuel and a shower. Before taking the exit (eastbound), I scanned the truckstop and saw one stall empty on the fuel island. Sure enough, when I got to it it was still empty- except for the truck and trailer parked behind the empty stall.

After waiting patiently for a couple of minutes behind the other truck I eased up alongside the passenger side to find the driver's seat empty. A couple of toots on the horn and ...

  2. Gun Battle

    by , 04.29.2012 at 12.17 AM
    It's 12:10 A.M., Sunday 04/29/12 and I'm in El Paso at exit #37. Sleeping.

That is, until a gun battle erupts south of the border. Out of habit I'm counting off rounds fired. About 200 rounds total. No full auto- it's almost all small arms fire, and heavy rounds ended the battle. Sounded like .308 and .223 fire with 40mm grenades finishing it off.

    Just another night in Juarez..

Time to go back to bed...

In the past year or so I've seen small city Police Officers changing the traffic lights manually, trying to write citations. Only twice, but it's playing dirty and it's wrong.

So, as a former City Policeman I'm going to level the field.

Here Ya go, no guarantees, no warantees- what you see is what you get...

  4. Look what you can do with a Scania Cabover

Pretty boring until you get to 5:33.

I didn't know you could do that with a big truck. Or a Scania cabover.

Wouldn't it be cool to do this on your driver's test?

  6. Anatomy of a messy load

    by , 10.22.2011 at 11.14 PM
Sometimes the glass is half full, sometimes it's half empty. How you see it is up to you.

Some drivers ask "How is this load going to make money?"

I always ask "How is this load going to make money?", then I squeeze EVERY DROP of profit from it.

    Here's a load I just did:

Delivered rolled paper to Bogalusa, La. Temple- Inland (the customer) had no room to unload the product, it took just over 12 hours for Dart to talk ...
