  2. Christmas in the air.....

    by , 11.13.2012 at 11.55 PM
There is one smell that makes it feel like Christmas for me.It started the first year I was OTR,and That has never gone away.In 1997 I got to smell the burning of diesel in the cold air.Dont ask me why,But it always reminds me of happier and adventurous times. The thought of going home to loved ones, and of course(getting out of the snow line9as I lived in Los Angeles during that time.

What are your memories and such at this time?

  3. Here I am again in Crunch time,or desperate times mean desperate measures.

    by , 09.08.2012 at 12.42 PM
Here I am again, in search of a job.I have been waiting patiently since The end of July, from when I got laid off at CPC logistics.I have an application at Central Transport and Have taken the drug test again, since its been 30 days + since the time I took the test and physical for them.friday Morning I was told by their hiring guy, that They found an accident on my DAC report. It was trading paint from an aluminum awning on to the trailer.(two inches of brown paint, and no damage to anything.) That ...

  4. Why do we always grab for the shiny things?

    by , 07.21.2012 at 02.39 AM
Why do we see our worst fears come true? Here I left a steady job(with low pay) driving local, to go to CPC logistics(another local job for Walgreens), knowing(and was warned by the recruiter) that the people running the show think they are God.All I saw were the dollar signs, and a chance to get away from my tyrannical, slave driving boss after 5 years. Thursday, I got a call from the recruiter that The bosses at walgreens were upset becuase I missed making a late call by 12 minutes. Then later I'm ...

  5. Second Chances?

    by , 09.01.2011 at 11.20 PM
As I was driving around my town this morning, listening to the local radio( I drive Local In Las Vegas) the topic was about a driver for (Old Dominion) whom admitted He was an alcoholic at His job. They fired Him and He sued and got His job back.
The question on the show(Heidi Harris") was, "Should CDL drivers get second chances."

As for me, I could beat any test out there, and I knew the only way to get my butt to do right was to choose to fail a drug test( Ive ...

  7. Here we go again.

    by , 02.08.2011 at 11.21 PM
Once again, the life of a local driver is tedious beyond belief. We lost a major, and very old account today, and it seems since I moved to this city and worked for these guys(for the last 4 years) that all we have done is downsized.I stay with them because I like sleeping in my own bed at night.the pay is lower than when I drove local in Los Angeles. Now I'm scared because I haven't really had a 40 hr work week in a while and I wonder how many more hours they will cut.
