I had a meeting with Katie's social worker and they plan to return custody to me as of August 13th if not before. #### what a long road.

Kate graduated from the program she has been in for two years on June 23rd. Sometimes I've cursed her dad for placing her in the states care but since she has been home I've seen such a turn around that I can honestly say from my point of view it has been worth it. I'm so very proud of the changes she has made and proud of her for that all she has had to indure to get to where she is at.

Raising a child with severe a chemical imbalance and psychological issues sometimes takes more than any parent can give. I tried and tried,took her to the best doctors I could,got her into the best school for her but eventually my energy ran down and it affected my health. That's when I sent her to live with her dad.

All in all she's one awesome typical teenager now!!!!!

I got to chat with Mick & Cass last night on the web cam, it was totally cool. Don't ask me why we haven't done it but once before. It was good for us to see each other. They were going to come back one more time to visit before we left but we all agreed to save the money for a big bbq when we get back to California.

I've learned that talking about my cancer kind of bugs Kate and my Mom. For me it's just a fact of life to deal with. Cancer is no longer a death sentence but just the same it scares people. To me talking about it just comes natural and seems right. I was 8 when my father was diagnosed with cancer and 14 when he passed away and not one day during that time did he ever sit us kids down and discuss it. The only thing I ever remember my dad saying to me as when we had gone out to pay bills one day,just him and me, he said to me, "whatever you do I hope you don't grow up to be like your mom". Yes,my mom is a piece of work but she's my mom.

I've had some days when I've been tired just because I'm still healing from the first surgery but I'm good,actually great. I don't see any of this as a boo hoo poor me thing. I don't even ask why me......why what for? It is what it is so ya deal with and keep moving. It cracks me up when people say they're sorry, I guess that's the thing to say. I'm not sorry, sure it would be nice if it hadn't happened but to me it's just another lesson one more tool to help me define my focus on what's important and to continue teaching my friends,family and girls the important things in life are things that can't be seen but rather must be felt. Yep I kinda stole that from Helen Keller, but it's a true statement for sure.

I'm doin all I can to keep up the positive energy and SOME morons just haven't clue how to be sensitive or even considerate.

Case in point: My mother called the other night.She did her usual crap then had the balls to ask me if I have been seeing my dad or granny yet??? WTH.......most people know that when you are close to the end you start seeing loved ones who have come to help you cross over.......so yes I was just mad as you-know-what.

Then there have been some other comments made by various family members that just set me back in my seat and made me ponder, what in the world must be wrong with them to make them make insensitive, selfish and just plain stupid comments.

The whole series of calls over a couple days just upset me and made me angry. I don't want a pitty party and actually all the dang phone calls and attention is making me feel weird but I've gotta let others do what they need to do to deal with this.

Also my grandmother {my dads mom} passed away the other day and that brough up some bad memories so that's made me angry too.

What is it about family functions whether its a birthday, reunion or funeral that brings out the idiot in us? My cousins have emailed me throwing that "family" word around like it's candy when they have NO CLUE what "Family" really means.

The move was delayed first due to multiple reasons. We've encountered everything from a murder 2 houses a way to wiring problems, to having to leave my truck behind.

Yeap several times I've wanted to say screw it and not go, but a mortgage payment is a mortgage payment and I can't back out now.

I think this should fall under be careful what you wish for. I wanted it and boy did I get it and not in the way I dreamed of at all but that's life in the big city so ya just keep one foot in front of the other and keep goin.

It seems my circumstances are a wee bite out of the ordinary. The court liaison who helped me went and actually talked to a judge, who said he wanted to hear the case. He didn't want any of Katie's confidential info made public. All divorce papers filed are a matter of public record. Sooooo I'll need to fly back but no big deal I was told once I saw the judge and explained all this that *poof* he grant the divorce that day.

I decided to celebrate my triumph with dinner with my mom tonight.

All in all it's been a wild week but a productive one.

Nah honestly I'm not heartbroken. Releaved is more like it. We're just not ready yet.

The major reason for the delay is a Memorial Service on Saturday night. My brothers best friend passed away a few months back. We had a regular memorial service then but Uncle Bob wanted a Memorial Service at the local track........yep he was a race car driver like my brothers.

Todd called me tonight and was so serious......he ask me if I minded if we delayed it for the service and memorial race saturday night.....of course my response was "I couldn't live with myself if we did leave and not do this".

Not to mention I also have some sort of tummy bug and don't feel so perky.

It's been a crazy day. It started at DMV this morning. I had to go back to get everything squared away. I had forgotten about a ticket for registration that I needed to pay so before I could get everything cleared and renew my license I had to pay the bugger. I did manage to do that Friday.

I was thinkin, walk in to DMV, pay it, smile pretty for the camera and away I'd go right? Oh hail no..........they made me take a test. Ya shoulda seen me when the lady said test......I turned white as a sheet, went weak in the knees, saw my life flash before me, felt like I was in labor again and just wanted off this wacky ride we call life......

HELP..................save me.......LOL.

I did manage to pass the darn test thought....whew....now I'm all legal.

I didn't sleep to well last night at all. They say the mind is a terrrible thing to waste.....well I'd like to waste mine thank you very much......I was thinkin way to much, then cried myself to sleep.

Anybody have some nerve pills, a hammer, a cold beer..............ANYTHING ? ?

It's Sunday night and I'm excited as all get out and have more butterflies than I know what to do with.

The goal has been to leave this Thursday but I wont know for sure until tomorrow. We have to make a run to Sacramento to check out the U-haul and see if it's ready, if not then we wait until the repairs are done right.

Another reason for not being in such a hurry is that before Todd & Alice can move into their house the septic system and water have to be hooked up. So far neither has been done. Work is due start tomorrow on both.

My brother poliety informed me we'll be traveling at 55mph and stopping every 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT ? ? ?

Dude it's gonna take us a month of Sundays to get there....lol.......and that's a conservative estimate.

I'm a blogger and have another on Yahoo but I thought I'd start one here so ANYONE who might be slightly interested can just look here and not have to point and click everywhere.

I hope to be able to post every night when we check into a hotel. I'll start an album for the trip also. Lord have mercy be prepared though..........I'm sure we'll all look like something the cat drug in.

So back to home base for me tonight to pack what I didn't today. It was way too hot so I swam.
