Just took Knight orientation on line. Man pretty neat.Great way to elimate instructor position. No problem to do and you can do it @ home. Went to terminal for road test and I failed. ( reason given ) when I exited I-285 traffic was heavy and I had to stop on the incline part of the exit ramp. I was in a volvo with an 8 speed I had never driven one b-4. Clutch was bad too. Anyway the trailer they had me hook up to was loaded and felt pretty heavy. While stopped I accidently got the shift pattern wrong and when I was trying to take off the truck rolled back a little b-4 I caught it ( maybe 2-3 feet) I was told this was automatic disqualification. I lol because I thogut he was kidding but he wasn't. Then while making a left turn from a designated turn lane I made the turn then" closed the door" to keep someone from sneaking into right hand lane and he told me that I made an illegal turn. I said " What ?? ur kidding right ? He said no I'm not. So I'm thinking who is this guy ? Anyway, come to find out his Name is Anthony and he used to drive a long time ago " when freight was good " and he was a safety rep. and instructor for knight in Atlanta. All of you drivers that have not, or do not let one roll back a little while on an uphill or do not " close the door " on the right hand lane, dont go to knight. Besides one of their new deals is, a $200 pay deduction unless you stay with them for 90 days and $300 if you step out of the truck without following their procedure for doing so.

I noticed speed trap set up, so I checked my speed and I'm good. I top a hill, there is a slight curve to the right and as it straightens out I see a car on the shoulder and another one in front of it. I check and its not safe to change lanes. I go a little further and I see the FRONT car is an unmarked State trooper. I check again and there is a pu trk in the left lane so I cant take it. So, I slow down ( my left signal on ) and I get on the zipper and go on by. 8 miles down the road I get stopped and get a ticket for " failure to yield the rt. of way to an emergency vehicle on the shoulder " I asked what did I do and he said I did not change lanes. I told him not safe to do, so slowed down, and he responded with plz let me see you lic. 5 min later I had a ticket.:biggrin_25513:

Finished orentation for Roehl on Thurs 7/1. We started with 8 and finished with 6. One person failed the driving test and was only 2 weeks out of a driving academy. Pretty sad to pay all those $ and still not be able to pass a simple road test. I felt sorry for the guy. The other dude failed the physical. These guys will require you to pass a physical and a stress test with a Dr. b-4 they let you go thru orientation. I also had to take 2 drug screens a week apart.:biggrin_255: They take bp and monitor your heart rate several times. The test is really pretty simple and not very long or intense. Anyway, supposed to check in on Tuesday 7/6 and hopefully get on the road.
