School's Out!

Well, we had graduation this morning and it was very emotional. Out a class that started with 31, we graduated 20. We had 8 who had A's (which is a lot more than any other class). I'm hoping to here for a company on Monday about a job, but will be in a cabin in the mountains for a few days to destress. Thanks for all of your support.

Something unusual happened in my head.

I drove all day Tuesday to get to my delivery for Wednesday morning.
I stopped and parked around midnight after driving 10 hours and being up for 16 or 17 hours.
After setting the brakes, I leaned back in the seat and dozed off for 15-20 minutes.
Up to that point, nothing unusual.

Then I woke up.
And I had this weird feeling.
I was scared.
Of going back to sleep.
And it was sincere and genuine fear, deep down to my bones.

Happy Birthday to ME!

LOL! Yep, today is my birthday. And Thursday will be me and Guy's 18th wedding anniversary. Amazing all the changes 18 years can make.

Eighteen years ago, my grandma was still alive and healthy. So was the man who would be my father in law, and one of my favorite co-horts in "crime".

But on the other hand, we did not have our two wonderful children yet. They were not much more than a twinkle in Daddy's eye.

Stuck Truck

I should have known better. In these parts, newly started constructions always have an in and out area to access the site that is lined with river rock.
When it's first laid, it isn't compacted and trucks get stuck in that stuff because the drives just sink into it.
So it was today. I was trying to pull into one of those things so I could turn around off a street that dead-ended after just having had made a delivery there.
Freakin' truck sank like busted boat in water....

got out of washington, finaly got home. Made a run over the hill(Mt Hood) to the resort and dropped a ld of new funiture, then into portland and picked up a partial back to the yd.. take a trailer up to prineville on monday. Then back to Portland for my dr.s appt on tuesday. That will be my week as far as I know for now. It's been cool at night but up in the 60's durning the day. hope all is well with all of you . thanks for the comments, need all the ideas I can get. I tend to be a doer not a thinker....

Last week of school is here!!!!

Well, it's finally here. This week I got to solo a few trucks (no instructor, with another student), passed my backing test (only 1 point out of 150 possible), and actually feel comfortable driving a semi. Next week we have to pass our forward driving course (should be easy), coupling, and a written final. Technically I have a low enough score that I should pass if I flunk everything, but I doubt if that will happen. My wife is doing much better and I have a couple of things to wrap up, but...

another day in the life

it finaly happened, I got stuck without a load. Well, thats truck driving. Pulled into a little truck stop just south of olympia wa. Part of my backhaul fell through . it happens, but still don't have to like it! Should get out of here before noon. Have a few things to do when I get back to the house. It cooled off last nite,woke up about 3:30 this morning, freezing my ears off, don't idle as a rule, But I damn sure fired it up for about a hour before I got up at 6, went in and had a cup, came...
