More Research Posted 11.28.2008 at 05.21 AM by Teaforone As much as I enjoy Thanksgiving, I am glad it is over. Now I can focus on trying to get back into my old truck driving school for a refresher. I don't think I will be able to get through to anyone today because most people get Friday (or take Friday) off. On Monday I am going to call my school. 4 weeks out with trainer Posted 11.27.2008 at 04.25 PM by Sawmill2Driver Well i have been on the road with my trainer for 4 weeks now and we have covered about 12000 miles.. have been busy. learned a lot. should be getting my own truck in about a week. Has been difficult living 24/7 with another guy in this truck, but only have a few more days to deal with it... been from california, through oregon, washington, idaho, montana, wyoming, utah, nebraska, kansas, missouri, and iowa.. I have no experience so I'm weighing my options. 1st Roadmaster trucking school, 2nd Schneider company training or 3rd Swift company training. trash or treasure Posted 11.26.2008 at 05.25 PM by trinitybay01 i stumbled across this site the other day, and read a posting of a fairly new driver rating his first driving position. i spent about 18 months as a driver instructor at a community college in houston. after spending many years on the road, it didn't take long to realize, it's all about the bucks and budgets, and training a will student to get his or her CDL. forget the truck driving stuff, train them to pass the CDL test. and i think this is the common practice of the industry. not saying it's... Going out with a trainer Posted 11.26.2008 at 05.23 AM by ParkRanger Saturday I'm going to meet my trainer n Laurinburg and hit the highway!! After being told that I'd have to go to IL and meet a trainer,things changed yesterday and now I'll be closer to home. Drove a guy to the airport who had been out for two weeks with his trainer and is heading home for his first time in 6 weeks. Will update you on training when I get a chance.
