I'm at J in Walton, KY, relaxing when I am jolted forward.
Damn! Somebody just backed into me.

I put my boots back on and went to the back of the trailer to see if everything's fine.
It is.

Except the behavior of the culprit. He didn't get out to check things out.
He just pulled away, toward the exit.
Never saw his truck and the trailer doors and sides were blank.

Garbage Trucks in a Hurry

Posted 09.29.2008 at 05.10 PM by racerx22288
Yay, a new contract, that's all that the owner of Grand Canyon Hauling & Services and myself, being the only driver for this small company could think. Guaranteed work, alright! So we contracted with South Grand Canyon Sanitary District to haul "sludge" away from their two waste water treatment plants to the nearest landfill about 90 miles away, twice a week. Ever experience any sort of theft?

Posted 09.29.2008 at 12.11 AM by Mrosas
Any truckers ever have their trailers or trucks stolen?

It's for a design project with some major truck companies. I'm working with some of the biggest companies in the business, so any stories regarding theft will help.

Thanks

We began qualifying on the road this week and did our CDL PreTrip test. I have discovered that I get a lot more tense when being tested on our skills than I had thought that I would. I missed several points on my pretrip (although I did pass), and my road trips I missed a few gears. For our school, we must be OKed by two of our instructors before we can do a CDL skills and road certification. We have to qualify both on a 9 and 10 speed on a 9 mile course through the city and a little stretch of...

Some day "you" will "retire" !!!

Posted 09.26.2008 at 01.32 PM by Paso Bill
Yes, you will wake up some day and retirement will click in. I'm there now, I'm board and would like to get input from any truckers still driving over retirement age. "How are you doing"?
What are the chances of a new retire with no driving back ground getting hired to drive?

Thanks,

Bill
