A little while back, I was hauling a load of heavy ductile iron pipe to a construction site. When I found the place, well it was pretty amazing. It was a resort type place - but where everyone owns their own lots/houses. The cheapest house there was probably a couple of million. I followed the directions back into an array of spaghettied streets, turn here, turn there, on and on - passing one unbelievably beautiful house after another. as a recent graduate of a school i went to us xpress as a student trainee. it was called a orintation. i arrived in chattanooga on sunday afternoon with a ticket they purchased. took a road test.spent the next three days filling out the paperwork. on thursday morning they told me that i didnt meet the safety commitees criteria. and to top it all off had to find my own way home. i had borrowed the money to feed my self them first weeks while i traineed it took every thing i had in my pocket to get...

This is my first time blogging, so dont really know what to say. I have been driving (this time around) for about 9 months. I drove for about 3 years for JBHunt in the early 90's then for personal reasons, took a 14 year break from trucking. I now drive for Watkins/Shepard. So far things have been going pretty good. Ive been averaging about 10K miles per month, mostly in the Western 11 states, with the occasional East Coast run. However, Im currently cooling my heels in a hotel in Virginia while...

I am very glad & i thank the good Lord for my health everyday, & that i am able to be as physically fit as i am, & to be able to still go at it like i do….Today we celebrated my youngest daughters birthday, she will be 15 on the 22nd. Things are starting to smoth out, even my double clutching

. I got to drive a Super 10 this week, and enjoyed it. I know understand (Note I didn't say know) how to drive a 9, 10, and Super 10. I've been in a Freightliner and a Volvo (liked the view from the Volvo much better). Drove through some big roads, and through a city during lunch time rush hour on little streets

This week, I left home Sunday night.
I went to Rheems and Columbia, PA for Monday.
Back to Hamilton on Tuesday.
Picked up Tuesday in Niagara Falls, ON and then today, Thursday, Hulbert, OK.
Now I'm at a motel in Stilwell, OK waiting for my load that won't be ready until Friday afternoon. Took a motel because the nearest truck stop shower is something like 45 miles away.
Drove overnights everyday this week and it SUCKS.
So far, 2064 miles.
Another 1091 to...

Don't believe in god so this is going to be short, as truck drivers we are the last & first link in the chain of the economy of this country,people don't comprehend how much we actually control the flow of money in this country,but we battle for low ball frieght instead of standing together to demand the better working conditions & enforcement of dot regulations that will improve our lives & keep us safe...Sadly its a every driver for himself enviroment out here,the few acts of courtisy...
