USA Experience Part 2

Posted 07.06.2009 at 11.08 PM by fd720
Well its Monday and they finally put me up in a motel in Van Buren. Its ok with a few restaurants and a grocery store nearby. No news on my second trainer yet. Maybe I will hear from him tomorrow. My first check went to my house so at least I have some money for the road. Its expensive eating on the road so make sure you bring money for food during your training phase. Well thats it for today so until next time.....

Clean Truck Stops

Posted 07.06.2009 at 06.55 PM by satmantoo
I stopped at a Wonderful Truck Stop in Wi. this last week-end. It was the Kwik Trip Truck Stop Travel Plaza on I94 exit 69. I got out of my truck with my usual bag of trash but couldn't find any trash cans, looking around the lot I was amazed at how clean it was. No trash bags, no urine filled bottles. They do have a large dumpster at the rear of the store. The bathroom floors were clean enough to eat of of although I wouldn't advise it. If you ever head up I94 or south, be sure to...

Walk in, walk out...

Posted 07.06.2009 at 04.07 PM by ghostchild
As I sit here deciding my future...I have past visuals of my life on the road this past Winter...I remember driving so hard through snow, ice, wind, cold, other reckless drivers, thick traffic...drive drive drive....and then you arrive at a Loves, on I-81...and it was like 'anti-climatic'....you step out of the truck...walk inside, through the freezing cold wind, go to the bathroom....walk out...look around...and that's it......

The Saga continues

Well not many companies are taking newbies in FL. FFE, Star Transport, Trans Am, and others said no. A couple of others said yes but it will take a couple of months.

Data and file collection, but no job....

Posted 07.06.2009 at 08.44 AM by ghostchild
Hi, my job search continues...what ever happened to the days that when you wanted a job, and a place was hireing, you just walked in and got the job?

Now days, they spend more time collecting data about you than anything else...files and data...
No wonder so many are unemployed...you have someone in the office who decides your employment fate by whether they think they want to hire you or not...

As a trucker...your of value, yes...as long as your willing to spend...
