Well last I remember I was just getting to the motel and waited until Wednesday before I got a call. Now keep in mind that I left my 1st trainer truck on previous Saturday evening at around 7pm. So she calls and says he is 3 hours out and to catch the shuttle to the terminal. So I pack up and catch the shuttle and when i get there I wait another hour or so and he finally arrives. He unloads his current student and calls me. He is over at maintenance shop trying to get his engine fan to turn off....

Hello to Everyone

I just started looking into trucking. (I've been with a company for 30yrs and it's closing
it's doors). Have done a considerable amount of traveling in a 4 wheeler, and always struggled with directions in big cities. Now have GPS and
just love it, but found out that during training,
trucking companies don't use them. Don't understand this at all....Turn come up so fast-
sometimes on right after another, don't know how anyone who drives semi doesn't miss turns
or ends...

Interview tomorrow....

Well, I got an interview tomorrow...wow...all the apps I've filled out...and it's actually with a company I think I will enjoy...

It's driving...but not the over the road stuff...infact it's more in line with Greyhound...but smaller...driving people around.
State of the art vehicles...now that's something I can do...and be home everyday...I can have a life.

I enjoy being around people...I enjoy making a difference in peoples lives...that's what makes life 'rich'...and...

USA Experience Part 2

Well its Monday and they finally put me up in a motel in Van Buren. Its ok with a few restaurants and a grocery store nearby. No news on my second trainer yet. Maybe I will hear from him tomorrow. My first check went to my house so at least I have some money for the road. Its expensive eating on the road so make sure you bring money for food during your training phase. Well thats it for today so until next time.....

Clean Truck Stops

I stopped at a Wonderful Truck Stop in Wi. this last week-end. It was the Kwik Trip Truck Stop Travel Plaza on I94 exit 69. I got out of my truck with my usual bag of trash but couldn't find any trash cans, looking around the lot I was amazed at how clean it was. No trash bags, no urine filled bottles. They do have a large dumpster at the rear of the store. The bathroom floors were clean enough to eat of of although I wouldn't advise it.

Walk in, walk out...

As I sit here deciding my future...I have past visuals of my life on the road this past Winter...

I remember driving so hard through snow, ice, wind, cold, other reckless drivers, thick traffic...drive drive drive....and then you arrive at a Loves, on I-81...and it was like 'anti-climatic'....you step out of the truck...walk inside, through the freezing cold wind, go to the bathroom....walk out...look around...and that's it......
