What a horrible week.

So I got out to California on Saturday and had a load that I thought was a drop. Well, we do drop loads in there, just not from the shipper I had. So I sat on it until Monday when I was told I could go and get unloaded. Was now supposed to be first come first served. Hmmm, nope! Long story short, CSR for FFE just "assumed" it was and we needed to make an appointment instead. So I dropped it at our yard and headed out looking for an empty trailer.

Not as easily accomplished as one might think. And in the middle of my trailer search I got pegged to deliver a load in Compton that an owner operator didn't feel like doing. Well, he was running late, so that made me late. And we had to reschedule... for the next day!

So by now it's Tuesday and I get the load delivered. Now I'm expecting that great load they are going to send me for doing all this. <<BEEP!>> Pick up in L.A. (load of lamb necks...??) and head to Calexico, Ca. for the next morning. WHAT?!?! 230 miles?!? I lost it. But I got the load done and told them if my miles don't improve I might have to find something else.

Well, here it is Friday and I'm in Plainview, Tx. Got some miles. I opted for a hotel room tonight. The Red Wings are going to win the Stanley Cup tonight!! Pick up my load to Laredo in the morning. More dead cow. Oh, and a $900 check today! I didn't think that was too bad. I would say that I hope things like this past week don't happen a lot, or I will have to leave. But I take the bumps in the road with the smooth spots and keep on trucking. I ran into more than enough drivers in Ontario, Ca. that were sitting a lot longer than me.

biscuit, everyones hurting. do not give up. let them you can shag a load if you pull into their terminal, swap loads, etc. once you get to know the system, it will be easier on you.
