Trucking, Las Vegas, and more Trucking

So it's been a few weeks since I posted. But it's been a fun few weeks. I ended up getting up to Philly with a load to set me up to get home for my Vegas trip. I was very impressed when I was put on a 3-way call with the CSR and my fleet manager in order to decide what we wanted to take in order to get home. The option we chose got me home 2 days early, but the CSR said "I would rather get you home early and give you an extra couple days instead of risking it and something happening and you miss your time off." Nice.

So I got home and took the couple days to relax before I got ready to go to Vegas. Took in Red, White and Boom in Columbus. On Sunday morning I took off. It amazes me that what would take me 2-3 days in a truck I can get accomplished in 5-6 hours.

I landed in Vegas and checked into my room at the Circus Circus. I then went and met a few of my friends who were at the World Series of Poker. Not in it, just watching. When I got there I had to make way for Phil Helmuth to make his grand entrance. Lets just say he looked like a douchey version of Cesar, had a bevy of beautiful women escorting him in. My brush with poker fame.

I spent a few days out there. Actually went out for a bowling tournament. Didn't bowl too good. But I played a lot of poker. We'll just say that I landed back in Columbus with more money than I landed in Vegas with.

Unfortunately all good things come to an end and I had to come back to my real life. <<Sigh>> I did get a round of golf in on Sunday before me and Jake packed up and headed out again. It's been a slow week. Run one day, sit the next, pick up and run, sit the next day, pick up and run..... I hope to get rolling good over the weekend.
