Last week driving

Well, this is my last week out here on the road. At least that's the plan right now, unless something drastically changes. I've been with Roehl something like 16 months now and switched to the 7/7 about 6 months ago. I work a part-time job on the week off and I mostly couldn't take not getting a load until Monday (supposed to launch Saturday) and getting stuck in Wisconsin for the entire week. I gave my two weeks notice and Roehl has been nothing but great about the whole thing. I've made it clear that if I were to go over the road again, Roehl would be my first choice.

Anyways, that aside, they made my last week an interesting one. I do believe this is the first time I've ever been to Louisiana or Mississippi. It's quite a bit different down here, very pretty country. I'm sitting just outside of Baton Rouge right now. My load came from Alexandria. I made it almost all the way to Georgia before the shipper realized they loaded the wrong stuff, and it was supposed to go to Port Allen (right near Baton Rouge). On the way here, on I-12, I saw my first gator ever out in the wild. Right in the middle of my lane, apparently trying to catch a car as they went by. It was quite a sight for me. I never realized they were so big. Saw another animal in the road, dead, looked to be a wild boar. Anyways, it's been fun, at least enough of the time to keep me here this long.
